ChiNext Index opens lower Friday

BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 0.89 percent lower at 1,203.67 points on Friday.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises Board Index, are major indices reflecting the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
