UNITED NATIONS, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The UN General Assembly has decided to commemorate the centenary of the founding of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
In a resolution adopted on Tuesday, the General Assembly decided to devote one day, during its current annual session, to the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the ILO.
It further decided, as part of the commemoration, to convene a high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly on April 10.
The resolution, drafted by Belgium and Jamaica, commended the positive contributions that the ILO has made during its 100 years of promoting social justice.
The ILO is a UN agency that sets international labor standards and promotes social protection and work opportunities for all.
