Chinese shares slightly lower at midday

BEIJING, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended slightly lower in the morning session Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.06 percent at 2,568.88 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.04 percent to end at 7,544.36 points at midday.
