SINGAPORE, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.36 percent, or 11.52 points, to close at 3,202.25.
A total of 1.63 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.05 billion Singapore dollars (about 773.31 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 229 to 160.
The STI index went up 0.62 percent or 19.62 points to close at 3,190.73 on Thursday.
