Bahrain's FM vows to combat terrorism

MANAMA, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said his country is a member of the international coalition to combat terrorism, in particular the Islamic State (IS) group, Bahrain News Agency reported Thursday.

According to a statement issued by Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the minister said the countries needs to exert more effort to secure a comprehensive defeat of the terrorist group in Iraq and Syria to restore stability, security and development in the liberated areas.

At a ministerial meeting of Global Coalition to Defeat IS held in Washington, he also stressed the need to dry up the financial resources of the terrorists.

The counter-terrorism efforts would also lead to a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, he added.
