Dollar changes hands in upper 109 yen range in early deals in Tokyo

TOKYO, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, largely in line with its levels in New York overnight.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.76-77 yen compared with 109.78-88 yen in New York and 109.91-93 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1339-1339 dollars and 124.48-52 yen against 1.1333-1343 dollars and 124.45-55 yen in New York and 1.1353-1355 dollars and 124.78-82 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
