CHICAGO, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures closed mixed on Wednesday after a relatively low-volume session, with soybeans and corn little changed as markets await news from trade talks in Beijing.

The most active soybean contract for March delivery was down 1 cent, or 0.11 percent, to settle at 9.165 dollars. March corn was up 0.5 cent, or 0.13 percent, to close at 3.7875 dollars per bushel. March wheat went up 2.25 cents, or 0.34 percent to settle at 5.20 dollars per bushel.

A new round of high-level trade talks between the United States and China will be held in Beijing on Thursday and Friday. Optimism on more progress led to a sharp rise in CBOT soybeans during the previous session. However, mild profit taking dragged down the prices on Wednesday.

"The trade talk optimism really had the market started to firm up a little bit, but it kind of pulled back somewhat because we are still waiting for some kind of a confirmation," said Virginia McGathey, McGathey Commodities.

CBOT wheat posted more gains for the fourth consecutive session, buoyed by upbeat export sales data.
