ALGIERS, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Thursday appointed former Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamamra as personal diplomatic adviser, said a report by APS news agency quoting a statement of the president office.
Lamamra, 66, served as foreign minister between 2013 and 2017, and secretary general for the Algerian Foreign Ministry between 2005 and 2007.
Bouteflika on Sunday announced that he will run for the forthcoming presidential election due on April 18 in a message addressed to the nation.
