Chinese shares close higher at midday Monday

BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares trended higher at midday Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.78 percent to close at 2,730.27 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index rallied 2.53 percent to 8,331.5 points at midday.
