WASHINGTON, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James led his team past Team Giannis 178-164 in the 68th NBA All-Star Game held in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday.

Team Giannis, captained by Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, took early control with a 53-37 first quarter, featuring a combined 28 points on 12-for-13 shooting from Bucks teammates Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. However, Team LeBron started to call the shots in the second half.

Golden State Warriors player Kevin Durant led Team LeBron with 31 points on 10-for-15 shooting, scoring 11 points in the fourth quarter and winning the All-Star MVP award. It's his second All-Star MVP trophy after winning it for the first time in 2012.

James had 19 points while another Warriors player Klay Thompson added 20 for Team LeBron.

Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 38 points on 17-for-23 shooting, adding 11 rebounds and five assists. The Charlotte Hornets' Kemba Walker shot just 2-for-8, but had a game-high eight assists.

Dirk Nowitzki, a special roster addition in perhaps his final NBA season, entered late in the first quarter and shot 3-for-3 from 3-point range for Team Giannis. Dwyane Wade, playing his final All-Star Game, had seven points and four assists for Team LeBron.
