BEIRUT, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon Hakan Cakil said Monday that Turkey is committed to supporting the new Lebanese government, the National News Agency reported.
"We will cooperate with this new government by contributing to developing the economy for the interest of the Lebanese people," Cakil said during his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri at Grand Serail.
Cakil said that he discussed with Hariri ways of enhancing cooperation between Lebanon and Turkey.
"We witnessed, following the government formation, the visit of the Lebanese minister of economy and minister of state for foreign trade," he said, adding that he encourages such visits which will continue in the future.
Cakil added he will work personally on boosting relations between the two countries on all levels.
