THE HAGUE, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Dutch league leaders PSV dropped another two points in the Eredivisie after a 1-1 home draw against Feyenoord, allowing Ajax to close the gap at the top to only two points.

Feyenoord were the better team in Eindhoven, although both teams had chances. After Feyenoord defender Sven van Beek received a red card for holding Steven Bergwijn, the visitors had to play out the last half hour with ten men.

Nevertheless, Feyenoord took the lead through a long-distance shot by Nicolai Jorgensen. PSV's equalizer followed shortly afterwards, through a tap-in by Hirving Lozano. PSV then pushed forward in search of a winner but were thwarted by Feyenoord goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer. The result means PSV have already drawn four times in 2019.

Earlier on Sunday, Ajax beat ADO Den Haag 5-1 in The Hague. Ajax fell behind early on after Nasser El Khayati opened the scoring with a beautiful strike for ADO. However, Donny van de Beek equalized quickly and four more goals followed through Dusan Tadic, Kasper Dolberg and two from Hakim Ziyech.

PSV now lead the Eredivisie with 58 points from 23 matches, followed by Ajax with 56 points and Feyenoord with 43. Ajax host PSV on March 31 in what will likely prove a crucial match in the race for the Eredivisie title.
