Spain's Munar advances to Brasil Open quarters

SAO PAULO, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Sixth-seeded Jaume Munar of Spain breezed into the quarterfinals of the Brasil Open on Tuesday with a straight sets victory over local favorite Pedro Sakamoto.

Munar, 21, needed just an hour and 55 minutes to dispose of his Brazilian rival 6-3, 6-2 on the indoor clay at Ginasio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo.

Seventh seed Juan Ignacio Londero also made it through to the last eight of the ATP 250 event with a 7-6 (3), 6-1 win over Italy's Paolo Lorenzi.

In other matches, Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain overcame Argentine Facundo Bagnis 6-1, 6-3, Italy's Lorenzo Sonego defeated Federico Delbonis of Argentina 6-4, 6-4 and Bolivia's Hugo Dellien beat Pedro Martinez of Spain 6-1, 6-2.

Total prize money for the 19th edition of the event is 550,145 US dollars.
