BEIJING, March 3 (Xinhua) -- China's meteorological authority on Sunday forecast that southern China would see two rounds of heavy rain in the coming week.
The heavy rainfall is expected to cover parts of Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, and Guangdong provinces on Monday and Tuesday, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said in a statement.
The second-round of rainfall will start from Wednesday and last three days. Regions in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and southern China will suffer.
Meanwhile regions, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi and Shandong, will be trapped in smog from Sunday to Monday, the NMC said.
From Tuesday to Wednesday, a cold front will disperse the smog in these regions from north to south.
