WASHINGTON, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese snowboarder Cai Xuetong won bronze on Saturday in the women's halfpipe competition at the Burton U.S. Open in Vail, Colorado.
Maddie Mastro landed the first-ever double cripper in women's competition, scoring 84.74. She beat fellow American Chole Kim, the PyeongChang Olympic gold medalist by 0.12 points to earn her first title in Vail.
Cai collected 83.75 points, finishing third, while another Chinese skier Liu Jiayu failed to make it to the final.
In men's competition, Australia's Scotty James bagged gold with 92.00, Raibu Katayama and Yuto Totsuka of Japan finished second and third respectively.
