WUHAN, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Over 100 Chinese competitors took part in a national badminton competition at Wuhan University's Zhuoer Stadium, which will serve as the badminton venue for the 2019 Military World Games this October. This was the second simulation test held for a MWG venue, after the sailing test event opened last week.

The competition adopted the latest badminton competition rules approved by the Chinese Badminton Association and the latest regulations published by the World Badminton Federation.

Organizers said this four-day competition, covering men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles categories, will help them improve the badminton venue for a better experience in the upcoming MWG.

The Zhuoer Stadium has a capacity of 8,000, and is one of the largest renovated indoor gymnasiums to meet MWG standards.

The 7th Military World Games is set to welcome over 10,000 athletes and officials from 105 members countries.
