Fire extends to north China prairie from Russia

HOHHOT, April 18 (Xinhua) -- A fire in Russia has spread to the neighboring prairie in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Thursday.

The fire, which was spread to the prairie in New Barag Left Banner, Hulunbuir City, was reported at 12:50 p.m. Thursday.

The local forest fire department immediately dispatched 60 firefighters to the fire site. Efforts are being made to put out the fire and prevent it from further extension.
