KUNMING, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Jay Clarke of Britain beat James Duckworth of Australia in the last quarterfinal match to round up the last four of the Kunming Tennis Open on Friday.
Clarke joins Goncala Oliveira of Portugal, Kamil Majchrzak of Poland and Indian Prajnesh Gunneswaran in the semifinals.
Clarke had a flying start, leading 4-0 in the first set, but was quickly overtaken 5-4 by Duckworth. Clarke then calmed down and took the following three games to wrap up the first set 7-5.
Duckworth levelled the score after taking the second set 6-3, only to see Clarke taking the third set 6-1 and advanced to the semifinals.
In other matches on Friday, Goncala Oliveira beat Alex Bolt of Australia 6-7, 6-4, 6-3. Prajnesh Gunneswaran defeated Serbian Nikola Milojevic 7-5, 6-3.
Clarke will play Oliveira and Gunneswan meets Majchrzak in the semifinals.
