Bangladesh condemns multiple blasts in Sri Lanka

DHAKA, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh joined the international community in strongly condemning multiple blasts, which shook Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.

Bangladeshi President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina condemned the attacks and expressed their condolences.

Hamid sent condolences to the people and the government of Sri Lanka, expressing shock at the deadly attacks, according to a press note.

Hasina condemned the attacks and wished quick recovery of those who were injured in the attacks, according to a message released by the press wing of the Prime Minister's Office.

The blasts taking place at three Sri Lankan churches, three luxury hotels and other locations killed more than 200 people and wounded hundreds of others, following a lull in major attacks since the end of the civil war in the country 10 years ago.
