PRAGUE, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Czech President Milos Zeman on Sunday sent a condolence telegram to Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, condemning the heinous acts of attacks earlier in the day.

"It is difficult for me to express my anger and contempt for those who have planned and implemented attacks against celebrating Christians," said Zeman in the telegram.

"These actions are all the more disgusting that they have targeted and insidiously directed against those celebrating the new beginning symbolized in the resurrection of Jesus Christ," he said.

Zeman sent his condolence to the families of the victims through the telegram. "Our thoughts and hearts are with them and all other desperate and suffering in Sri Lanka and around the world," said the president.

Other Czech political figures, including Prime Minister Andrej Babis and Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Jan Hamacek, also denounced the attacks in their own ways.

Latest figure shows that the multiple blasts which shook Sri Lanka on Sunday have claimed 207 lives, wounding over 450 others.
