BEIJING, April 25 (Xinhua) -- With the ISSF World Cup being held in Beijing, women's 10m air rifle draws attention once again, with China's gold medalist Du Li becoming the team coach.

The women's 10m air rifle, as scheduled by the 2020 Tokyo Olympic organizing committee, has been the first medal event for nine consecutive Olympics since 1988. This event requires precise skill because the paper target is just as small as a coin.

In preparation for Tokyo Olympics, Du has joined hands with her mentor Wang Yuexi to coach the women's air rifle shooting team.

Chinese gunners have a long and storied history. In 2004, Du became the first gold medal winner in the sport at the Athens Olympics. However, in Beijing 2008, she failed to defend her title. In 2012, Yi Siling withstood the pressure and managed to grab the first gold for China. Four years later in Rio, Du and Yi reached the podium again by bagging the silver and bronze, respectively.
