JAKARTA, May 9 (Xinhua) -- A prosecutor in Jakarta anti-corruption court on Thursday demanded prison term of four years for secretary-general of the National Sport Committee Ending Fuad Hamidy in a bribery case with Youth and Sport Ministry.

Hamidy was accused of allegedly bribing two officials in an effort to speed up distribution of a grant to the committee, said Ronald F. Worotikan, prosecutor from the anti-corruption watchdog.

"The court states that the suspect Ending Fuad Hamidy is guilty by implicating in corruption," the prosecutor said.

Hamidy, along with treasurer of the committee Johny E Awuy, allegedly bribed deputy IV for sport development of the ministry Mulyana and two others officials with a total fund of 650 million rupiah (some 45,108 U.S. dollars) and one car.

The suspect is also obligated to pay fine of 150 million rupiah (about 10,400 U.S. dollars), according to the prosecutor.

Previously, the committee proposed for financial assistance to the ministry for financing the supervising and sport development ahead of the Asian Games and Asian Para Games in the country last year.

Indonesia has striven to battle graft in sport sector. In March, Indonesian police detained former interim chairman of its football association Joko Driyono for allegedly involvement in a match fixing scandal, after nabbing 15 others.
