Dutch cyclist Wiebes keeps leading Tour of Chongming Island

SHANGHAI, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Clocking in three hours, five minutes and 25 seconds, Dutch cyclist Wiebes kept her leading position in stage two of the 2019 Tour of Chongming Island, making her the winner of yellow, green and white jerseys.

Jutatip Maneephan of Thailand Women's Cycling Team ranked the second, who won the best Asian rider. Nina Kessler of Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank was awarded the polka-dot jersey as the best climber.

The 20-year-old Wiebes expressed her gratitude to teammates, saying that "our team did a really good job today. I am very proud of that. During the race, I just rushed forward. I believed in my team. They helped me a lot to close the gaps."

During the stage from Fenghuang Park in Changxing Island to New City Park in Chongming Island, cyclists raced through Shanghai Yangtze River Bridge with the highest point of 60 metres.

The 2019 Tour of Chongming Island will conclude on Saturday, featuring 18 teams for a total distance of 347.7 kilometers.
