TEHRAN, May 11 (Xinhua) -- A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit Ezgele region in Iran's western Kermanshah province, near Iraq border, at 14:58 a.m. local time (1028 GMT) on Saturday.
According to Iranian Seismological Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was at the depth of 8 km, 34.847 degrees north latitude and 45.762 degrees east longitude.
There has been no reports of casualties so far, according to official IRNA news agency.
The assessment teams are at the site of earthquake to study the possible damage.
The earthquake was also felt in the neighboring Ilam province and the border region of Iran and Iraq.
In November 2017, 211 Iranians died in a magnitude-7.3 earthquake that hit the Iran-Iraq border in Sar pol Zahab area of Kermanshah province.
