Lebanese army receives military support from Italy

BEIRUT, May 17 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanese army received on Friday hydrographic equipment and prefabricated rooms from Italian authorities, the National News Agency reported.

"Italy is committed to continuing its military support for Lebanon," Italian Ambassador to Lebanon Massimo Marotti said, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the Lebanese and Italian armies.

Taan Nassar, representative of the commander-in-chief of the Lebanese army, said that Italy has always provided great support to Lebanon.

"This is a very important donation in view of the Lebanese army's mission to preserve stability and security in the country," he said.
