BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Beijing Guoan midfielder Zhang Xizhe will be absent in the final game of the AFC Champions League group stage against Urawa Red Diamonds tomorrow.
Last Friday, Zhang, the former Wolfsburg player, strained a muscle and was out for the second half of the CSL match against Tianjin Tianhai. Having witnessed a ten-game winning streak in the CSL, Beijing Guoan will have to face off against its Japanese competitor away without Zhang as he is yet to recover from his injury.
It still remains unclear who will be in the line-up as central midfielder for Guoan.
In a bid to get through the group phase for the third time in franchise history, Guoan will seek more chances in midfield and attack. A draw with Guoan would allow the Red Diamonds to advance to the elimination stage.
