Organizing committee of China's 10th National Paralympic Games inaugurated in Tianjin

TIANJIN, May 24 (Xinhua) -- The organizing committee of China's 10th National Paralympic Games, which will also function as the 7th National Special Olympics, was inaugurated in Tianjin on Friday.

The directors of the organizing committee include the president of China Disabled Persons' Federation Zhang Haidi, director of China's General Administration of Sport Gou Zhongwen, Tianjin mayor Zhang Guoqing.

22,800 athletes are estimated to take part in the games which slate for August 25 to September 1, 2019. Ten events have been in progress before the official opening of the Paralympic Games.

Wang Jing, deputy secretary general of the organizing committee, said the preparation is going smoothly. The overall rule and rules for each competition have been formulated. The barrier-free design for each venue has been completed. Over 5,500 volunteers have been recruited and 13 companies have agreed to sponsor the event.
