SHENZHEN, South China, June 2 (Xinhua) -- China has secured the women's singles gold medal as Cheng Meng and Wang Manyu set to meet in the final after beating their respective rivals in the semifinals of the ITTF China Open here on Sunday.

Third seed Chen took the first game 18-16 over second seed Zhu Yuling. Zhu levelled the match with a 11-5 win in the second game, only to see Chen winning the next three games 11-8, 11-6 and 11-9.

"This was a really tough match, especially the first game. She gave me a lot of pressure. It was not easy to win the match," Chen said.

Forth seed Wang displayed great composure to see off No. 7 seed Mima Ito of Japan in five games. Wang was strong on key points to win the first two games 12-10, 12-10 before Ito fought back hard to take the third game 11-5. Wang found the rhythm again to win the next two games 11-7 and 11-6 to clinch the victory.

"I think I performed really well and carried out my planned tactics very firmly today," Wang said.

"Last year at the Japan Open I lost to her. Today at the China Open I am happy to win," she added.

Finalists Wang and Chen are familiar to each other. Their last meeting saw Chen sweep Wang 4-0 in the World Championships.

"I want to use 100 percent of my energy to challenge her. Hopefully I can play out my best," Wang said.
