AUBAGNE, France, June 2 (Xinhua) -- France U-18 beat Qatar U-22 2-0 while Brazil crushed Guatemala 4-0 in their Group B matches of the U-22 Toulon Tournament here on Sunday.

Due to conflicting schedule with the U-20 World Cup, France fielded their U-18 side instead but the young players still showed dominance against Qatar's U-22 national team.

After missing a good chance from Michael Olise in the 22nd minute, when his effort hit the post, France opened the scoring in the 41st minute through Metz right back Yann Godart's deflected goal.

The hosts finally doubled the lead in the 90th minute, thanks to a penalty converted by Adil Taoui.

Brazil pulled ahead in the 19th minute with a goal from Pedrinho. Bruno Tabata made it 2-0 four minutes later. Second half substitute Wendel added the third in the 85th minute before captain Douglas Luiz, who plays for Spanish side Girona, sealed the victory with a penalty kick.

France will face Brazil on Wednesday and Qatar next take on Guatemala.

China's Olympic team, managed by Dutchman Guus Hiddink, will play their first Group C match against Ireland on Monday, followed by Mexico vs Bahrain.
