Chinese shares close lower at midday Tuesday

BEIJING, June 4 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.84 percent at 2865.67 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went down 0.88 percent to end at 8778.99 points at midday.
