OAKLAND, United States, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Despite trailing down 3-1 in the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors will look at it as a challenge and get ready to turn around the situation, head coach Steve Kerr said after the game on Friday.
The Warriors lost to the Toronto Raptors 105-92 in Game 4 and now have to face up to a 3-1 hole in the Finals. They've been down 3-1 before, back in 2016 in the Western Conference finals against Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. But they needed to win only once on the road to pull off that comeback.
"You just try to win one game. That's what we did a few years ago against Oklahoma City. Win one game, and then you move forward. So that's our focus now," said Kerr.
"We'll fly to Toronto tomorrow and take a look at the film, see what we can do better and try to win a game. We have won a lot of games over the years, so we'll try to win another one," he added.
"We look forward to playing another basketball game in an exciting atmosphere, it's an ultimate test and we look at it as a challenge. Obviously we have got to lick our wounds tonight, a tough loss. But the game's a few days away. We'll have plenty of energy, and we'll be ready to go."
Kerr admitted that the team's defense has struggled and he also gave credit to the offense game of the Raptors. "They have just played really well offensively, and they got a lot of threats out there, a lot of shooters, a lot of passers. So they're playing well, and we have got to do better."
Although the Warriors need to take three games in a row to defend their title, Kerr said it's not a daunting job. He said: "We got a lot of talent and we got a lot of pride, and these guys have been to the Finals five straight years for a reason. They're unbelievably competitive. And they're together, and they're going to fight. They're going to fight the whole way. So we'll go try to get one win and, if we can do that, come back here and see what happens."
