BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Animation companies in China are seeking for wider global market, elevating the industry by producing distinctive brand images and recognizable aesthetic concepts of Chinese culture, China Daily reported Thursday.

People in Republic of Korea will be able to watch the well-known Chinese animation series "Bonnie Bears" produced by Fantawild Animation on TV next month. It is the first time Fantawild's signature brand has stepped into Republic of Korea, the newspaper said.

The "Bonnie Bears" is now available in more than 80 countries on various platforms including Disney, Sony, Netflix and Discovery Kids, it noted.

Moreover, the Shanghai-based Haoliners Animation League has exported two of its popular series to Japan. It also jointly created an animated movie with a Japanese company.

Signs of Chinese animation companies tapping into larger overseas market can be seen from the increasing number of market values and their efforts to build up the brand image of Chinese animation.

The market value of China's animation and cartoon industry in 2017 reached 153.6 billion yuan (about 22.2 billion U.S. dollars), and is projected to exceed 200 billion yuan by 2020, according to consultancy iResearch cited by the report.

As the brand image and aesthetic concept of Chinese animation gradually grow with more works and animators going overseas, Chinese companies need to find a recognizable symbol of their animation, said the paper citing Song Lei, director of the consulting and planning department at the National Animation Creative Research and Development Center.
