Beijing to host 2nd Global Sustainable Transport Conference

BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Beijing will host the 2nd United Nations (UN) Global Sustainable Transport Conference in May, 2020, according to the Ministry of Transport (MOT).

The theme of the conference will be "Sustainable Transport, Sustainable Development," said MOT spokesperson Wu Chungeng.

A UN team made the first inspection tour on the organizing work from June 18 to 22 and reached consensus on the preparations, Wu said.

The first Global Sustainable Transport Conference was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in 2016.
