GABORONE, July 3 (Xinhua) -- The Secretary General of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Mpho Balopi on Wednesday applauded the Communist Party of China (CPC) for sharing its concept of governance with the world.

Balopi, who was the leader of the BDP delegation in China from June 14 until June 30 at the invitation of the CPC, showed his appreciation when addressing journalists at the Botswana ruling party's headquarters in Gaborone, Botswana's capital city.

Last month, CPC hosted delegates from at least 30 different countries including Botswana, Egypt, Central African Republic, United Kingdom, Fiji and Laos a benchmarking exercise.

"While in China, we visited a number of departments and organizations in order to benchmark, exchange valuable ideas and experiences in skills development and ideology," said Balopi.

Balopi said most of the facilities the Botswana delegation visited showed a true demonstration of the CPC's commitment to the future of the people of China.

"A critical lesson we learned while in China is CPC's evident obligation to serving the country with the utmost diligence, respect for the rule of law and deliberate actions to uproot corruption completely," he said.

He said Botswana delegation learned that discipline is critical to achieve intended goals.

"We appreciate and applaud CPC for its sheer commitment, discipline and unity as demonstrated by their cadres," said Balopi before promising to join the CPC and the people of China in upholding the policy on multilateralism and an open global economy.

On Monday this week, the CPC marked its 98th founding anniversary and celebrated its achievement of transforming China into a major force in upholding multilateralism and improving global governance.
