BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- A group of eight Chinese police officers are heading for Croatia for a joint patrol with their Croatian counterparts.

A ceremony was held in Beijing Wednesday to send off the police officers who are from the public security bureau of Yangzhou city in east China's Jiangsu Province and joined this operation on behalf of China's public security authorities.

The joint patrol, the second of its kind, will be conducted in Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Zadar and Plitvice Lakes National Park.

The Chinese police officers belong to multiple categories of public security force, including anti-terrorism, exit and entry management and transportation management. They have received a series of training courses to familiarize themselves with local conditions and patrol skills in Croatia.

Citing the success of the 2018 joint patrol in Croatia, an official with the international cooperation department of China's Ministry of Public Security expressed hope that Chinese police officers and their Croatian counterparts will promote exchanges, increase mutual trust, serve Chinese citizens and enterprises in Croatia, and help advance the development of China-Croatia relations.
