Rafaelle Souza, known as Rafaelle, is a brazillian footballer who plays for Changchun Zhiye as the captain in Chinese Women's Super League. Rafaelle was born in Cipo, Bahia, Brazil, 1991. Growing up in a poor family, she started playing "football", a ball made of wasted socks, with a bunch of boys in the neighboring alleys when she was seven. Before joining Changchun Zhiye in 2016, Rafaelle had played for Brazil's national team at 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Rafaelle has been familiar with China since she was young, for her family was full of products from China. Living in Changchun, she is gladly adapting to the current trends of Chinese daily life: online shopping, online food delivery service and mobile payment. More importantly, the atmosphere of the Chinese Women's Super League is attractive, says Rafaelle. "I wish to take my team to the league's champion and attract more talented players around the world to China to help Chinese women's football get better", said Rafaelle. (Xinhua/Wang Haofei)
