Chinese shares close lower at midday Tuesday

BEIJING, July 16 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.11 percent at 2,939.08 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went down 0.18 percent to end at 9,292.59 points at midday.
