TOKYO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- The organizers of next year's Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics on Friday unveiled uniforms for some 110,000 volunteers, which feature the Tokyo Games' emblem.

The uniforms, which consist of a navy blue polo shirt, trousers, sneakers, as well as socks, zip-up jackets, brimmed hats and bags, are designed to be functional, fashionable and recognizable.

The design was chosen from about 30 alternative plans. The clothes are made of breathable fabrics, which are suitable for hot weather. The flexible pants come with detachable legs and can be converted into shorts.

There will be two different designs for polo shirts -- one for the "Field Cast" volunteers working at competition venues and athletes' village, and one for the "City Cast" volunteers, who will assist tourists and manage traffic at airports and train stations.

A committee made up of Olympians, Paralympians, fashion experts and sporting volunteers voted on the uniform design in March. Sportswear manufacturer Asics Corp., an official partner of the Games, will make the uniforms.
