GWANGJU, South Korea, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Russian artistic swimmers took a gold medal in the women's team free event, winning its seventh artistic swimming gold medal at the 18th FINA World Championships in the South Korean city of Gwangju on Friday.

The Russian team presented the routine "Shaman," finishing first with 98.0000 points to snatch the 11th gold medal in a row in the team free event.

As was the case in the 2015 and 2017 world championships, China sealed second with 96.0333 to win silver. It was the fourth silver medal of these championships for team China in artistic swimming.

The Chinese team performed the routine "Ode to the Heroines" with a flawless lift, a powerful and high throw, and beautiful patterns and movements, but it was not enough to overcome the frontrunners.

Ukraine claimed bronze with 94.3667, earning the first step onto the podium. Japan came fourth with 93.3667, one point less than the Ukrainian team.
