JUBA, July 19 (Xinhua) -- South Sudan are set to play Seychelles in the preliminary rounds of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021 qualifiers.

Winners of the match set to be played in October will join Burkina Faso, Uganda and Malawi in Group B of the qualifiers.

The draw for the 33rd edition of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers was announced in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday evening and it will bring together 48 teams. The finals will be held in Cameroon.

The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) said Thursday evening that the preparations for the match would kick off immediately.

The game will be another test for the Bright Stars to excel past the group stage of the continental showpiece after several futile attempts since becoming a full FIFA member in July 2012.

The east African country failed to qualify for this year's tournament in Egypt, losing all qualifier games in Group C.
