BRATISLAVA, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Two Slovak football clubs, Spartak Trnava and Dunajska Streda, advanced to the second qualifying round of the Europa League on Thursday night.

After losing 0-2 to Radnik Bijeljina in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first leg, Spartak Trnava won 2-0 on home turf thanks to Alex Sobczyk and Kristian Mihalej and forced the game into extra time.

After the goalless overtime, Trnava's goalkeeper Dobrivoj Rusov saved two attempts of the guests to lead his team to victory in the penalty shootout. Trnava will face Lokomotiv Plovdiv from Bulgaria in the second qualifying round.

Dunajska Streda repeated the 1-1 draw against Cracovia Krakow from the first-leg match and forced the second-leg clash in Poland into extra time. Both team managed to score, but Dunajska Streda advanced thanks to more away goals. The team from the southern part of Slovakia will compete against FC Atromitos from Greece next.

The third Slovak participant, MFK Ruzomberok, lost to Levski Sofia 2-0 home and away.
