KAMPALA, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's select side defeated visiting Nigerian side Kaduna State Cricket Club by 8 wickets in an international friendly match here on Saturday.

The visitors batted first to put on 96/10 in 39.4 overs before Uganda's team reached 97/2 in only 13.3 overs to take the match.

Daniel Gim scored a game-high 41 runs for Kaduna, while Sylvester Okpe had 14 runs.

Shazad Kamal and Arthur Kyobe were Uganda's biggest scorers with 42 and 34 runs respectively.

"We are happy that after losing to the same side in a 50 over game on Friday, we have managed to win today," Uganda's man of the match Frank Akankwasa said.

Kaduna's Isaac Danladi said their tour of Uganda is helping the team gain more international experience, which it is hoped will boost the level of cricket in Nigeria.

The Kaduna State team has eight players who feature for Nigeria's national team.

The two teams will play another friendly on Monday.
