Chinese shares close lower at midday Monday

BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.57 percent at 2,907.44 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went down 0.33 percent to end at 9,198.34 points at midday.
