ANKARA, July 22 (Xinhua) -- At least six people were injured after a rocket fired from within Syria landed in Turkey's southeastern Sanliurfa province on Monday night, the provincial governor's office said.
The wounded were taken to a hospital nearby and their conditions are stable, the governor's office said in a statement.
The U.S.-backed Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) militia controls much of northern and eastern Syria.
The YPG group is regarded by Ankara as the Syrian affiliate of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey.
However, the United States has supported the YPG to combat the Islamic State in Syria.
