NANJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Inter Milan's newly-appointed head coach Antonio Conte stoked the fires ahead of the highly-anticipated International Champions Cup match against Juventus, saying his side would make efforts to beat his former club.
Conte, who spent most of his playing time in Juventus and had 3-year coaching spell in this Serie A giants said he was happy to see his old friends, but his team will focus on the pitch after the whistle.
"It will be a clash between the best teams of Italy which means a lot to us, we will take everything to beat them and I expect to see the improvements during the game."
The Nerazzurri is Conte's first club after leaving Chelsea's coaching spot in summer of 2018, and he said he was happy to return to Italy.
"Premier League is the toughest one in the world, it is difficult to win any trophy, Serie A is on its way to the right track, we have got our training conditions improved."
"It takes time to change one club, but I have confidence to help Inter to achieve the goals," he said.
Conte denied the rumors of returning to Juventus, he insisted he didn't receive the invitation from the Bianconeri.
"No, I've never been close to the Juventus bench. I just kept in touch with Inter, it's a decision made by both sides."
