Monthlong performance event to be held in Beijing

BEIJING, July 27 (Xinhua) -- A performance event featuring 20 art shows will be held in Beijing from Aug. 1 to 31.

The Beijing Story event will present eight art forms including Peking Opera, Kunqu Opera, modern drama and modern dance.

A section of the event will be dedicated to traditional Chinese operas, and two sections will feature modern dramas that pay tribute to China's reform and opening up while reflecting people's daily life.

Lectures and workshops on drama will also be held during the event.
