MANAMA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Bahrain executed on Saturday three men who were convicted in two separate cases.

Advocate General and Chief of Anti-Crime Prosecution Ahmed Al Hammadi said the first case was related to two individuals who were part of a "terrorist group with links to Iran."

The group conducted terror operation in 2017 in which a policeman was killed and in another incident in the same year, a policeman was ambushed during a prison break.

In the second case, the advocate general said that an investigation was launched after body parts were discovered in an desert area in the south of Bahrai. Investigations revealed that they belonged to an imam who was killed and dismembered by the muezzin of the mosque.

"The three executions were carried out by firing squad, in the presence of the execution judge, the representatives of the public prosecution and those concerned, as required by law," said Al Hammadi.
