BEIJING, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- "The Bravest," the first Chinese movie that puts the spotlight on firefighters as a whole group, formally opened in theaters across China Thursday.
Based on a real fire accident, it tells of firefighters' struggle to contain a huge fire after an oil pipeline explodes in a coastal oil tank area.
Starring Huang Xiaoming and Du Jiang, "The Bravest" has received a user rating of 9.6 out of 10 on Maoyan, a Chinese film database and ticketing platform, in advance screening, with many viewers reporting the touching film left them in tears.
The feature film generated a box office of 55 million yuan (about 7.97 million U.S. dollars) in the pre-sale, according to China Movie Data Information Network.
