DAMASCUS, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- An explosive device ripped through a car in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Friday night, causing material damage, state news agency SANA reported.
The explosive device was affixed under a car in the al-Mazzeh neighborhood in the west of Damascus, SANA said.
It is not the first bombing targeting the capital this year.
Last month, a roadside bomb hit a car in a Damascus' neighborhood of al-Qadam, killing one person.
In June, an explosive device went off in Damascus, wounding a woman and her child. In the same month, an explosion was caused by an accidental fire inside a military base in western Damascus.
On Jan. 20, an explosion hit the southern highway in Damascus.
Damascus has been living largely in peace and tranquility since the army liberated the last rebel stronghold in the east of the capital city in May of 2018.
