RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian international right-back Dani Alves is set to make his debut for Sao Paulo on Sunday after being officially registered with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CFB).

The 36-year-old's availability was confirmed in the CBF's daily bulletin on Wednesday, paving the way for him to feature in Sao Paulo's home clash against Ceara in the Brazilian Serie A.

Alves has not played since he captained Brazil to a 3-1 victory over Peru in the Copa America final at the Maracana stadium on July 7.

Sao Paulo manager Cuca has indicated that his marquee signing will play in midfield, having deployed him there in training sessions during the past week.

Alves agreed to a three-and-a-half year contract with Sao Paulo - the team he supported as a child - on August 1, less than two months after parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain.

Last week, the former Sevilla, Barcelona and Juventus defender said he had no plans to retire in the near future, revealing a desire to play in the 2022 World Cup.

Sao Paulo have also added former Atletico Madrid and Spain right-back Juanfran to their squad in the past two weeks. The 34-year-old World Cup winner is still waiting to be registered with the CBF.
